Very predictable result when eighth ranked Dominion BB (12-12) won against bottom-ranked Gipuzkoa (4-20) in Bilbao 80-71 on Saturday. The hosts took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But Gipuzkoa won third quarter 19-17. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They outrebounded Gipuzkoa 40-27 including 26 on the defensive glass. It was a good game for Latvian Dairis Bertans (194-89) who led his team to a victory with 18 points. Belgian forward Axel Hervelle (205-83) contributed with 13 points and 8 rebounds for the winners. Four Dominion BB players scored in double figures. Guard Txemi Urtasun (193-84) replied with 20 points and point guard Pedro Llompart (185-82) added 11 points and 4 assists in the effort for Gipuzkoa. Both coaches allowed to play bench players saving starting five for next games. Dominion BB moved-up to seventh place, which they share with Unicaja. Gipuzkoa lost fifth consecutive game. They stay dead last with 20 lost games. Dominion BB will face Unicaja Malaga (#8) on the road in the next round. Gipuzkoa will play against the league's leader FC Barcelona (#1) where they are definitely not considered as a favorite in this game either.
