Regular Season Round 29: Trier - Hamburg 91-72

Date: March 19, 2016
The game in Trier was also quite interesting. 5th ranked Hamburg (18-11) played at the court of sixth ranked Gladiators (17-13). Gladiators did not have too big problems and got a relatively easy victory 91-72 on Saturday. It ended at the same time the six-game winning streak of Hamburg. The game was mostly controlled by Gladiators. Hamburg managed to win third quarter 23-22. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They outrebounded Hamburg 49-27 including a 49-27 advantage in defensive rebounds. Americans were the main players on the court also this time. The best player for the winners was forward Dwayne Evans (198-92, college: St.Louis) who had a double-double by scoring 23 points and 12 rebounds. Swingman Brandon Spearman (190-91, college: Hawaii) chipped in 16 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists. Spearman is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. Four Gladiators players scored in double figures. Gladiators' coach Marco van den Berg used entire bench which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Guard Xavier Roberson (186-90, college: Our Lady Lake, agency: Haylett Sports) produced 18 points and 5 assists and forward Jonathon Williams (198-90, college: Wagner) added 13 points and 6 rebounds respectively for the guests.
