Regular Season Round 24: Tochigi Brex - Hiroshima D. 75-60

The game had a very big importance for second-ranked Tochigi Brex as it allowed them to take a leadership position. Tochigi Brex defeated 9th ranked Dragonflies at home 75-60. The hosts trailed by 4 points at the halftime before their 42-23 charge in the second half, which allowed them to win the game. Tochigi Brex dominated down low during the game scoring 56 of its points in the paint compared to Dragonflies' 32. They outrebounded Dragonflies 43-31 including 30 on the defensive glass. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when Tochigi Brex made 7 blocks. It was a good game for American power forward Ryan Rossiter (204-89, college: Siena) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 21 points, 14 rebounds and 5 blocks. The other American import guard Tommy Brenton (196-89, college: Stony Brook) contributed with 10 points and 8 rebounds for the winners. Four Tochigi Brex players scored in double figures. American forward Haminn Quaintance (203-85, college: Kent St.) replied with 18 points and 9 rebounds and the former international power forward Kosuke Takeuchi (206-85) added 10 points and 8 rebounds in the effort for Dragonflies. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. As mentioned above they are alone now at the top position. Dragonflies lost third consecutive game. They keep the ninth place with 28 games lost. Dragonflies will play next round against strong Toyota Alvark trying to get back on the winning streak. Tochigi Brex will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game.
