Regular Season Round 23: Miramar - Masnou 82-90
Date: March 20, 2016
We cannot really consider it an upset in the game between close teams when second-ranked Miramar (9-5) was defeated at home by third ranked Masnou (9-5) 90-82 on Sunday. Miramar trailed by 19 points at halftime and as many as 28 after three quarters before a 40-20 last quarter charge cut the deficit to 82-90 at the end of the game. It was a great evening for Alberto Valle (186-81) who led his team to a victory scoring 27 points, 7 rebounds, 4 assists and 7 steals. Forward Marc Balague (190-85) helped adding 21 points and 5 rebounds. Forward Javier Medori (200-93) responded with a double-double by scoring 19 points and 10 rebounds and center Carlos Poyatos (207-94) scored 14 points. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Miramar's coach Pau Tomas tested ten players, but that didn't help to avoid defeat in this game. Masnou moved-up to second place in Group C Perman, which they share with defeated Miramar. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.
