There was no surprise when 14th ranked Taranto (7-19) lost at home to eleventh ranked Porto S.Elpidio (10-16) 72-66 on Sunday. Forward Lorenzo Tortu (200-92) orchestrated the victory with a double-double by scoring 13 points and 10 rebounds. Guard Francesco Boffini (185-85) contributed with 17 points and 4 assists (was perfect 7-for-7 from the free throw line) for the winners. Center Salvatore Orlando (202-80) replied with 19 points and 8 rebounds and point guard Valerio Circosta (188-87) added 12 points and 5 rebounds in the effort for Taranto. Five Porto S.Elpidio and four Taranto players scored in double figures. Taranto's coach rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Porto S.Elpidio moved-up to tenth place in B, which they share with Varese Coels. Loser Taranto keeps the fourteenth position with 19 games lost. Porto S.Elpidio will face Vasto (#12) at home in the next round. Taranto will play against Mola and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
