Regular Season Round 24: Hapoel J-M - Maccabi T-A 73-66

Date: March 21, 2016
An interesting game for Hapoel Jerusalem (18-6) which hosted in Jerusalem second-best Maccabi T-A (16-8). First ranked Hapoel Jerusalem managed to get a 7-point victory 73-66. It was a good game for the former international Yotam Halperin (194-84) who led his team to a victory with 23 points. American-Bulgarian point guard Earl Rowland (188-83, college: St.Mary's, CA) contributed with 10 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists for the winners. Four Hapoel Jerusalem players scored in double figures. International point guard Gal Mekel (190-88, college: Wichita St., agency: Beo Basket) replied with 15 points, 5 rebounds and 6 assists and American-FYR Macedonian power forward Richard Hendrix (204-86, college: Alabama, agency: Stanislav Ryzhov) added 8 points and 7 rebounds in the effort for Maccabi T-A. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Hapoel Jerusalem have a solid three-game winning streak. Defending champion maintains first position with 18-6 record. Maccabi T-A at the other side keeps the second place with eight games lost. Hapoel Jerusalem are looking forward to face Maccabi Haifa (#3) on the road in the next round, which may be the game of the day. Maccabi T-A will play against Maccabi Ashdod and is hoping to prove to their fans that the loss was just an accident.
