Regular Season Round 28: Final Genclik - Pertevniyal 77-67

We should mention about the upset which took place in Bursa, where higher ranked Pertevniyal (12-16) lost to fifteenth ranked Final Genclik (10-18) in a road game 67-77 on Friday. The hosts trailed by 2 points at the halftime before their 41-29 charge in the second half, which allowed them to win the game. Final Genclik looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. American forward Justin Knox (205-89, college: N.Carolina, agency: Two Points) fired a double-double by scoring 23 points and 15 rebounds for the winners. Power forward Polat Kocaoglu (205-79, agency: 1x1 Sports) chipped in 12 points. Knox is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. Four Final Genclik players scored in double figures. Final Genclik's coach used a ten-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Berk Demir (203-95) produced a double-double by scoring 30 points and 17 rebounds and American center Damontre Harris (208-91, college: Campbellsville) added 15 points and 8 rebounds respectively for lost side. Final Genclik maintains fifteenth position with 10-18 record, which they share with Bandirma Kir. Loser Pertevniyal keeps the tenth place with 16 games lost. Final Genclik will face higher ranked Meliksah (#10) in Kayseri in the next round and they do not belong to the favorites in that game.
