Regular Season Round 49: Hiroshima L. - Fukuoka Rizing 61-108

Very expected game when 12th ranked Hiroshima L. (1-40) was smashed at home by eighth ranked Fukuoka Rizing (16-28) 108-61 on Friday. The game without a history. Fukuoka Rizing led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated down low during the game scoring 70 of its points in the paint compared to Hiroshima L.'s 24. Fukuoka Rizing forced 23 Hiroshima L. turnovers and outrebounded them 48-27 including a 17-6 advantage in offensive rebounds. It was a great shooting night for Fukuoka Rizing especially from behind the arc, where they had solid 52.6 percentage. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists comparing to just 9 passes made by Hiroshima L.'s players. Quite impressive performance for American forward Donnavan Kirk (206-91, college: Miami, FL) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 16 points and 15 rebounds. His fellow American import center Travis Derochowski (209-87, college: Simpson, CA) contributed with a double-double by scoring 20 points and 10 rebounds (on 9-of-11 shooting from the field) for the winners. Five Fukuoka Rizing players scored in double figures. Fukuoka Rizing's coach Tomohiro Moriyama felt very confident that he used 11 players and allowed the starting five to get some rest. Ayumu Osawa (-91) answered with 17 points and 5 rebounds and Daichi Tomioka added 13 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists in the effort for Hiroshima L.Fukuoka Rizing maintains eighth place with 16-28 record. Hiroshima L. lost their twenty seventh game in a row. Newly promoted team keeps the twelfth position with 40 games lost. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.
