Regular Season Round 24: Granada - El Olivar 73-68
Date: March 26, 2016
Not a big story in a game when 11th ranked El Olivar (8-16) was defeated on the road by sixth ranked CB Granada (14-10) 73-68 on Saturday. However just five-point win is not that big difference and the fans of host team counted on more convincing victory. The hosts started the game with a very strong first quarter 26-15. But El Olivar won second period 18-16. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. CB Granada forced 20 El Olivar turnovers. The best player for the winners was swingman Ivan Martinez (192-90) who scored 26 points. American center Jordan Stone (208-89, college: BYU-Hawaii) chipped in 7 points and 7 rebounds. CB Granada's coach Pablo Pin used a ten-player rotation in such tough game. At the other side the best for losing team was guard Alvaro Sanz (178-98) who recorded 15 points and 7 rebounds and Lithuanian forward Zygimantas Riauka (206-93, college: Wisc.-Parkside) added 10 points, 11 rebounds and 4 blocks respectively. Four El Olivar players scored in double figures. CB Granada moved-up to fourth place, which they share with Lucentum and Avila. El Olivar at the other side, also newcomer in the league, keeps the eleventh position with 16 games lost. They share it with Valladolid and Cambados.
