Everything went according to plan when fifth ranked Osaka Evessa (31-14) outscored at home 9th ranked Bambitious Nara (15-31) 78-59 on Sunday. The hosts were tied at the half but managed to speed up in last two quarters eventually winning the game. Osaka Evessa forced 21 Bambitious Nara turnovers. American forward DeAngelo Casto (203-90, college: Washington St.) had a double-double by scoring 10 points and 17 rebounds to lead the charge for the winners and the other American import forward Lawrence Blackledge (206-86, college: Marquette) chipped in 10 points and 7 rebounds during the contest. Blackledge is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. Five Osaka Evessa players scored in double figures. Trinidad and Tobago power forward Julius Ashby (208-82, college: Colorado) responded with 17 points and 5 rebounds (was perfect 7-for-7 from the free throw line) and American guard Charles Hinkle (196-88, college: American) scored 11 points. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to get some rest. Osaka Evessa have a solid three-game winning streak. They moved-up to fourth place. Bambitious Nara lost eighth consecutive game. They keep the ninth position with 31 games lost. Osaka Evessa will have a break next round. Bambitious Nara will play at home against the league's second-placed Shimane Magic (#2) and hope to win that game.
