Regular Season Round 30: S.Jose/Unimed - Mogi 81-86
Date: March 29, 2016
Very predictable result when third ranked Mogi (19-9) won against on the road 14th ranked Sao Jose/Vinac (7-21) 86-81 on Tuesday. The guests took control from the first minutes by winning the initial quarter 22-19. But Sao Jose/Vinac won second period 17-16. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Mogi made 22-of-27 free shots (81.5 percent) during the game. Naturalized American Shamell Stallworth (195-80, college: USF, agency: Interperformances) notched 21 points, 8 rebounds and 5 assists (went 8 for 8 at the free throw line) to lead the effort and Guilherme Filipin (185-83) supported him with 19 points. Mogi's coach Danilo Padovani used a ten-player rotation in such tough game. Even 23 points and 4 assists by Pedro Lima (191-87) did not help to save the game for Sao Jose/Vinac. Mateus Dalla Barba (198-91) added 21 points and 4 assists. Five Mogi and four Sao Jose/Vinac players scored in double figures. Mogi have a solid three-game winning streak. Despite that victory Mogi went down to fourth position due to points difference, which they share with B.Cearense. Sao Jose/Vinac lost tenth consecutive game. They keep the fourteenth place with 21 games lost.
