No shocking result in a game when sixth ranked Maccabi Raanana (15-9) beat at home 9th ranked Hapoel Kazrin (10-14) 80-71 on Wednesday. They outrebounded Hapoel Kazrin 36-25 including 25 on the defensive glass. Maccabi Raanana looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists. The winners were led by American forward Samme Givens (198-89, college: Drexel) who had that evening a double-double by scoring 21 points, 11 rebounds and 4 assists and the other American import guard Rian Pearson (193-90, college: Toledo) supported him with 24 points and 10 rebounds. Even 19 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists by center Nimrod Levi (204-95) did not help to save the game for Hapoel Kazrin. American center Demarco Cox (203-90, college: Georgia Tech) added 18 points and 7 rebounds (on 7-of-8 shooting from the field). Maccabi Raanana moved-up to fifth place, which they share with Ironi Ramat Gan. Hapoel Kazrin at the other side keeps the ninth position with 14 games lost. They share it with Ramat Hasharon. Maccabi Raanana will meet league's second-placed Ironi Kiryat Ata on the road in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Hapoel Kazrin will play against Hapoel B/S (#3) and hope to secure a win.
