An exciting game between Top Four teams was played in Tokyo. Third ranked Aishin Sea Horses faced one of their biggest challengers Hitachi Sunrockers. Guests from Kariya (30-17) defeated host Hitachi Sunrockers (31-14) 74-68. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Hitachi Sunrockers. American center Isaac Butts (208-89, college: Appalachian St.) orchestrated the victory with a double-double by scoring 18 points and 14 rebounds (on 8-of-9 shooting from the field). The former international swingman Kosuke Kanamaru (193-89) contributed with 21 points and 5 rebounds for the winners. Four Aishin Sea Horses players scored in double figures. American power forward Joshua Heytvelt (210-86, college: Gonzaga) replied with 11 points and 8 rebounds and international power forward Joji Takeuchi (207-85) added 11 points and 7 rebounds in the effort for Hitachi Sunrockers. Despite that victory Aishin Sea Horses went down to fifth position due to points difference. Hitachi Sunrockers at the other side dropped to the fourth place with 14 games lost. Aishin Sea Horses will play against Dragonflies (#9) in Hiroshima in the next round. Hitachi Sunrockers will play at home against Mitsubishi Dolphins (#8) and hope to get back on the winning track.
