Regular Season Round 27: Crema - Desio 85-78

Not a big story in a game when 9th ranked Desio (11-16) was defeated on the road by fifth ranked Crema (18-9) 85-78 on Sunday. They made 26-of-29 free shots (89.7 percent) during the game. Desio was plagued by 25 personal fouls down the stretch. It was a great evening for power forward Gabriele Zanella (204-81) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 14 points, 10 rebounds and 5 assists. Point guard Luca Montanari (181-92) helped adding 23 points (went 7 for 7 at the free throw line). Four Crema players scored in double figures. The best for the losing side was guard Daniele Quartieri (195-87, agency: SPORTlab Agency) with 15 points, 9 rebounds and 4 assists and forward Andrea Negri (193-88) scored 20 points. Desio's coach Davide Villa tested ten players, but that didn't help to avoid defeat in this game. Crema have a solid series of four victories in a row. They moved-up to fourth place in B. Desio lost seventh consecutive game. They keep the ninth position with 16 games lost. Crema will face Fiorentina (#13) in Firenze in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Desio will play at home against Sangiorgese (#14) and hope to win that game.
