Regular Season Round 52: Shiga L-Stars - Kyoto Hannar. 74-77

Sixth-ranked Shiga L-Stars (28-16) used its home court advantage to challenge third ranked Kyoto Hannar. (35-11) on Sunday. The visitors from Kyoto managed to secure only three-point victory 77-74. However their fans expected easier game. Shiga L-Stars cut a 19-point halftime deficit to three at the end of the game. Worth to mention a great performance of American forward Tyren Johnson (202-88, college: La-Lafayette) who helped to win the game recording 25 points and 5 assists. The other American import forward Kevin Kotzur (203-89, college: St.Mary's, TX) contributed with a double-double by scoring 20 points, 10 rebounds and 4 assists (on 10-of-13 shooting from the field) for the winners. Four Kyoto Hannar. players scored in double figures. Kyoto Hannar.'s coach Honoo Hamaguchi used a ten-player rotation in such tough game. Zimbabwean-American Julian Mavunga (203-90, college: Miami, OH, agency: Pensack Sports) replied with 22 points, 9 rebounds and 7 assists and American forward Jeffrey Parmer (203-85, college: Florida Atlantic) added 25 points in the effort for Shiga L-Stars. Kyoto Hannar. have a solid three-game winning streak. They maintain third position with 35-11 record having just two point less than leader Okinawa GK. Shiga L-Stars lost fourth consecutive game. They keep the sixth place with 16 games lost. Kyoto Hannar. are looking forward to face Kanazawa Samuraiz (#7) in Ishikawa in the next round. Shiga L-Stars will play at home against Osaka Evessa and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
