Regular Season Round 26: Toshiba BT - Hiroshima D. 73-66

Very expected game in Kanagawa where 9th ranked Dragonflies (15-33) were defeated by fourth ranked Toshiba Thunders (32-16) 73-66 on Sunday. The hosts took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But Dragonflies won third quarter 18-17. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. The best player for the winners was American forward Nick Fazekas (211-85, college: Nevada) who had a double-double by scoring 36 points (!!!) and 19 rebounds. The former international swingman Naoto Tsuji (185-89) chipped in 11 points and 5 assists. Toshiba Thunders' coach Takuya Kita used entire bench which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. American guard Shannon Shorter (193-89, college: N.Texas) produced 21 points and 8 rebounds and the former international power forward Kosuke Takeuchi (206-85) added 15 points and 13 rebounds respectively for the guests. Four Dragonflies players scored in double figures. Toshiba Thunders have an impressive five-game winning streak. They moved-up to third place. Dragonflies lost eighth consecutive game. They keep the ninth position with 33 games lost. Toshiba Thunders will have a break next round. Dragonflies will play at home against Aishin Sea Horses (#5) and hope to win that game.
