Regular Season Round 27: Ravenna - Matera 96-70

Not a big story in a game when 16th ranked Matera (3-24) was rolled over on the road by sixth ranked Ravenna (16-12) 96-70 on Sunday. Ravenna looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. It was a great evening for American point guard Michael Deloach (185-86, college: Norfolk St.) who led his team to a victory scoring 19 points, 6 rebounds and 7 assists. His fellow American import power forward Taylor Smith (200-91, college: SF Austin) helped adding 17 points and 6 rebounds. The best for the losing side was Czech center Jiri Hubalek (208-82, college: Iowa St., agency: Interperformances) with a double-double by scoring 11 points and 11 rebounds and guard Daniele Mastrangelo (189-91) scored 14 points. Five Ravenna and four Matera players scored in double figures. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Ravenna maintains sixth place in A2 with 16-12 record. Loser Matera keeps the sixteenth position with 24 games lost. Ravenna will face higher ranked Roseto (#5) on the road in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Matera will play against Bondi Ferrara (#11) and hope to win that game.
