Regular Season Round 26: Hapoel T-A - Maccabi K/G 81-78

Date: April 4, 2016
A very interesting game took place in Tel-Aviv. It ended with only three-point defeat on the road of 11th ranked Maccabi K/G (9-17) to ninth ranked Hapoel Tel-Aviv (11-15) 81-78 on Monday evening. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Maccabi K/G. The hosts were ahead by 2 points but lost the second period ending it with a 3-point deficit before their 28-22 run, which allowed them to win the game. Hapoel Tel-Aviv forced 22 Maccabi K/G turnovers. 25 personal fouls committed by Maccabi K/G helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. American power forward Jeff Allen (201-87, college: Virginia Tech) notched a double-double by scoring 15 points and 15 rebounds to lead the effort and the former international Raviv Limonad (191-84) supported him with 22 points. Four Hapoel Tel-Aviv players scored in double figures. Even 20 points and 5 rebounds by American swingman Alando Tucker (198-84, college: Wisconsin) did not help to save the game for Maccabi K/G. His fellow American import point guard Paul Delaney (188-86, college: UAB, agency: Three Eye Sports) added 15 points, 6 rebounds and 6 assists for the guests. Hapoel Tel-Aviv moved-up to eighth place, which they share with Maccabi Ashdod. Newly promoted Maccabi K/G keeps the eleventh position with 17 games lost. Hapoel Tel-Aviv's next round opponent will be higher ranked Hapoel Eilat (#6) on the road and it may be quite challenging game. Maccabi K/G will play against Hapoel Holon (#10) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
