Regular Season Round 31: Maurienne - Lourdes 81-87

Very significant was Lourdes-Tarbes' (#6) 87-81 road victory against 4th placed Aix-Maurienne. It was a key game for the second position in the league. The guests took control from the first minutes by winning the initial quarter 22-15. But Aix-Maurienne won second period 21-18. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Lourdes-Tarbes made 19-of-25 charity shots (76.0 percent) during the game. It was a great shooting night for Lourdes-Tarbes especially from behind the arc, where they had solid 53.3 percentage. Aix-Maurienne was plagued by 25 personal fouls down the stretch. It was an exceptional evening for Jamaican forward Ricardo Alliman (201-87, college: Cedarville) who led the winners and scored 18 points and 7 rebounds. Lithuanian forward Darius Tarvydas (200-91) accounted for 20 points for the winning side. Alliman is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. American power forward Steffon Bradford (198-77, college: Nebraska) came up with a double-double by scoring 30 points and 12 rebounds and Gambian forward Moses Sonko (197-83, college: Co.Carolina, agency: HMS) added 15 points and 6 rebounds respectively for Aix-Maurienne in the defeat. Four Lourdes-Tarbes and five Aix-Maurienne players scored in double figures. Lourdes-Tarbes (19-12) moved-up to second place, which they share with GET Vosges and St Vallier. Aix-Maurienne lost fourth consecutive game. They dropped to the fifth position with 13 games lost. They share it with Rueil. Lourdes-Tarbes will play against league's leader ADA Blois at home in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Aix-Maurienne will play against Rueil (#6) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
