Regular Season Round 53: Shinshu BW - Niigata Albirex 59-87

The game in Nagano supposed to be also worth to mention about. Fourth ranked Niigata Albirex (31-16) played at the court of 7th ranked Shinshu BW (23-24). Niigata Albirex smashed Shinshu BW 87-59. It ended at the same time the four-game winning streak of Shinshu BW. The game was mostly controlled by Niigata Albirex. Shinshu BW was better in fourth quarter 21-20. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Niigata Albirex players were unselfish on offense dishing 21 assists. Jamaican-American power forward Ryan Reid (204-86, college: Florida St., agency: Comsport) orchestrated the victory with a double-double by scoring 24 points and 19 rebounds. American swingman Wayne Arnold (193-84, college: Tennessee St.) contributed with 27 points and 4 assists for the winners. American forward Michael Bell (206-82, college: Florida Atlantic) answered with a double-double by scoring 15 points and 17 rebounds and the other American import power forward Xavier Gibson (210-88, college: Florida St., agency: Comsport) added 20 points and 9 rebounds in the effort for Shinshu BW. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. The victory was the third consecutive win for Niigata Albirex. They maintain fourth place with 31-16 record. Shinshu BW at the other side keeps the seventh position with 24 games lost. Niigata Albirex will have a break next round. Shinshu BW will play again at home against Niigata Albirex (#4) and hope to win that game.
