Regular Season Round 27: Chiba Jets - Tochigi Brex 79-90

Not a big story in a game when 8th ranked Chiba Jets (20-27) lost at home to second ranked Tochigi Brex (38-8) 90-79 on Saturday. The game was mostly controlled by Tochigi Brex. Chiba Jets was better in second period 19-17. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They made 18-of-23 free shots (78.3 percent) during the game. It was a good game for American power forward Ryan Rossiter (204-89, college: Siena) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 22 points and 13 rebounds. The former international swingman Takatoshi Furukawa (190-87) contributed with 26 points for the winners. Furukawa is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. Tochigi Brex's coach Thomas Wisman used an eleven-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. American power forward Rick Rickert (211-83, college: Minnesota) answered with 15 points and 9 rebounds and the other American import power forward Clint Chapman (208-89, college: Texas) added 18 points and 6 rebounds in the effort for Chiba Jets. Four Chiba Jets players scored in double figures. Tochigi Brex have an impressive series of six victories in a row. They maintain second place with 38-8 record behind leader Toyota Alvark. Chiba Jets lost fourth consecutive game. They keep the eighth position with 27 games lost. Tochigi Brex will face Hitachi Sunrockers (#4) in Tokyo in the next round. Chiba Jets will play on the road against the league's leader Toyota Alvark (#1) in Tokyo and hope to win that game.
