There was a surprise result in Tarnobrzeg where sixteenth ranked Stabill (7-22) edged higher ranked Stal Ostrow Wlkp. (11-17) 72-70 on Saturday. The hosts trailed by 4 points after three quarters before their 26-20 charge, which allowed them to win the game. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when Stabill made 7 blocks. It was a great evening for American guard Gary Bell (190-92, college: Gonzaga) who led his team to a victory scoring 25 points. Forward Kacper Mlynarski (202-92) helped adding 9 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists. The best for the losing side was Bulgarian Hristo Nikolov (200-85, agency: 011 Sports) with 21 points and 5 rebounds and Cameroonian center Alexis Wangmene (205-89, college: Texas) scored 14 points. Stal Ostrow Wlkp.'s coach rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Stabill moved-up to fifteenth place, which they share with Trefl Sopot. Newly promoted Stal Ostrow Wlkp. keeps the twelfth position with 17 games lost. Stabill will face higher ranked PGE Turow (#9) in Zgorzelec in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory.
