Franca fired past Rio Claro to force the decider. The game without a history. Vivo/Franca led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated on the defensive end, holding Rio Claro to just 7 points in second quarter. Vivo/Franca dominated down low during the game scoring 52 of its points in the paint compared to Rio Claro's 22. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when Vivo/Franca made 7 blocks. 25 personal fouls committed by Rio Claro helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. Worth to mention a quality performance of guard Guilherme Schneider (193-86) who helped to win the game recording 10 points and 7 rebounds and point guard Thiago Carneiro (191-91, college: Colorado NW CC) who added 16 points during the contest. Five Vivo/Franca players scored in double figures. At the losing side center Atilio de Mello (203-82) responded with 14 points and the former international Andre Stefanelli (196-84) scored 13 points. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games.
