Quarter-Finals Round 3: Jena - Chemnitz 69-53

Jena fired past Chemnitz and sealed their semifinal appearance. 24 personal fouls committed by BV Chemnitz 99 helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. It was a good game for American guard Marcos Knight (188-89, college: Middle Tenn.St.) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 16 points, 10 rebounds and 6 assists. Lars Wendt (190-92) contributed with 11 points and 5 rebounds for the winners. American point guard Virgil Matthews (188-83, college: Montana) answered with 12 points and 4 assists and Jonas Richter (200-97) added 8 points and 8 rebounds in the effort for BV Chemnitz 99. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games.
