Regular Season Round 27: St Quentin - Hyeres-Toulon 70-81

ProB top team - Hyeres-Toulon (21-6) managed to deliver another win. This time they beat tenth ranked Saint-Quentin (13-15) 81-70. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Saint-Quentin. The game was mostly controlled by Hyeres-Toulon. Saint-Quentin was better in third quarter 17-14. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They outrebounded Saint-Quentin 40-28 including 29 on the defensive glass. The best player for the winners was American swingman Chris Dowe (193-91, college: Bellarmine) who scored 14 points and 7 rebounds. His fellow American import point guard Maurice Acker (176-87, college: Marquette, agency: HMS) chipped in 16 points and 4 assists. At the other side the best for losing team was American swingman Ryan Evans (203-90, college: Wisconsin) who recorded a double-double by scoring 20 points and 10 rebounds and Meredis Houmounou (188-88) added 14 points and 4 assists respectively. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Hyeres-Toulon have an impressive series of six victories in a row. They maintain first place with 21-6 record. Saint-Quentin at the other side dropped to the eleventh position with 15 games lost. Hyeres-Toulon's next round opponent will be Lille Metropole (#10) at home and are hoping to win another game. Saint-Quentin will play against Charleville-Mezieres and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
