Regular Season Round 26: Gandia Basquet - Almassera 61-51

Rather predictable result when first ranked Gandia Basquet (22-2) defeated at home 3rd ranked Almassera (15-9) 61-51 on Saturday. The hosts were tied at the half but managed to speed up in last two quarters eventually winning the game. Gandia Basquet dominated on the defensive end, holding Almassera to just 7 points in second quarter. They outrebounded Almassera 52-39 including 17 on the offensive glass. American forward Fitzgerald White (201-91, college: Union, KY) scored 11 points and 9 rebounds to lead the charge for the winners and power forward Inigo Remon (202-89) chipped in 11 points and 7 rebounds during the contest. Forward Carlos Rodriguez (194-82) responded with a double-double by scoring 10 points and 10 rebounds and forward Denis Tokaev (200-91) scored 9 points and 8 rebounds. Both coaches allowed to play bench players saving starting five for next games. Gandia Basquet have an impressive 12-game winning streak. They maintain first position in Group E Clas with 22-2 record. Loser Almassera keeps the third place with nine games lost. Gandia Basquet will face league's second-placed Myrtia in Murcia in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week.
