Regular Season Round 26: Ourense - Agustinos-Eras 89-78

The most surprising game was a loss of top-ranked Agustinos-Eras (16-4) on the court of sixth ranked Ourense on Saturday night. Visitors were defeated by Ourense 89-78. The game was mostly controlled by Ourense. Agustinos-Eras managed to win third quarter 18-9. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Ourense forced 24 Agustinos-Eras turnovers. 30 personal fouls committed by Agustinos-Eras helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. Point guard Martin Rodriguez (182-96) scored 25 points and 6 steals to lead the charge for the winners and forward Xabier Arriaga (202-97) chipped in 21 points and 4 steals during the contest. Sergio Martinez responded with 34 points (!!!) and 9 rebounds (on 14-of-17 shooting from the field) and American forward Dionte Ferguson (198-92, college: S.Alabama) scored 15 points and 6 rebounds. Agustinos-Eras' coach Adrian Alvarez rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Newly promoted Ourense maintains sixth position in Group A-B with 10-9 record. Agustinos-Eras at the other side still keeps top place with four games lost. They share the position with Grupo Inec Z.. Ourense are looking forward to face Naron (#8) on the road in the next round. Agustinos-Eras' supporters also look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will travel locally in Leon to the arena Leon.
