Regular Season Round 26: Myrtia - Paterna 87-49

Not a big story in a game in Murcia where 5th ranked Paterna (11-12) was rolled over by second ranked Myrtia (16-7) 87-49 on Saturday. The game was mostly controlled by Myrtia. Paterna was better in second period 17-14. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They dominated on the defensive end, holding Paterna to just 7 points in first quarter. Myrtia dominated down low during the game scoring 48 of its points in the paint compared to Paterna's 26. They outrebounded Paterna 47-33 including a 35-24 advantage in defensive rebounds. Newly promoted Myrtia maintains second position in Group E Clas with 16-7 record having just twenty point less than leader San Fernando. Loser Paterna keeps the fifth place with 12 games lost. Myrtia will face league's leader Gandia Basquet on the road in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Paterna will play against Valencia-2 (#4) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
