Regular Season Round 26: Leon - Rosalia 73-60

Date: April 16, 2016
There was no surprise when 10th ranked Rosalia (5-15) was defeated on the road by fifth ranked Leon (11-9) 73-60 on Saturday. The game was mostly controlled by Leon. Rosalia was better in second period 23-19. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They dominated on the defensive end, holding Rosalia to just 7 points in first quarter. Leon made 18-of-22 free shots (81.8 percent) during the game. They outrebounded Rosalia 34-23 including 25 on the defensive glass. American forward Trevor Berkeley (198-92, college: Drake) scored 16 points and 8 rebounds to lead the charge for the winners and center Pablo Martinez (201-95) chipped in 9 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists during the contest. Berkeley is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. Guard Anton Bouzan (188-95) responded with 13 points and American center John Swords (213-92, college: Bowdoin, agency: Duran International) scored 6 points and 9 rebounds. Both coaches tested many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Leon maintains fifth position in Group A-B with 11-9 record. Loser Rosalia keeps the tenth place with 15 games lost. Leon's supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will face at home their local rival from Leon Agustinos-Eras.
