Everything went according to plan when seventh ranked Vicenza (17-12) outplayed at home 13th ranked Fiorentina (10-19) 89-69 on Sunday. They outrebounded Fiorentina 37-24 including a 25-14 advantage in defensive rebounds. Vicenza looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. Power forward Claudio Nobile (206-82) orchestrated the victory with a double-double by scoring 15 points and 10 rebounds. Guard Nicola Boaro (187-92) contributed with 22 points for the winners. Forward Emanuele Di Giacomo (203-94) answered with 19 points and 8 rebounds and naturalized Ivorian guard Mohamed Toure (190-92, agency: Players Group) added 19 points and 4 assists in the effort for Fiorentina. Five Vicenza and four Fiorentina players scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Newly promoted Vicenza maintains seventh place in B with 17-12 record. Fiorentina at the other side, also newcomer in the league, dropped to the eleventh position with 19 games lost.
