Regular Season Round 26: Villarrobledo - Estudiantes B 86-69

There was an upset when higher ranked Estudiantes B (8-15) was defeated on the road by fourteenth ranked Villarrobledo (6-17) 86-69 on Tuesday. The game was mostly controlled by Villarrobledo. Estudiantes B was better in fourth quarter 26-25. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Villarrobledo shot 62.5 percent from the field. Villarrobledo outrebounded Estudiantes B 33-22 including a 30-18 advantage in defensive rebounds. Estudiantes B was plagued by 26 personal fouls down the stretch. American guard Marquiz Baker (188-89, college: Alcorn St.) scored 15 points, 5 rebounds and 6 assists to lead the charge for the winners and the other American import guard Logan Carson (196-91, college: McKendree) chipped in 12 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists during the contest. Four Villarrobledo players scored in double figures. Croatian power forward Filip Bundovic (205-94, agency: Octagon Europe) responded with 19 points and guard Diego Gonzalez (188-96) scored 15 points. Both coaches tested many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Villarrobledo moved-up to thirteenth place in Group B, which they share with Casvi. Loser Estudiantes B keeps the tenth position with 15 games lost. Villarrobledo will face Casvi (#14) in Villaviciosa in the next round.
