Regular Season Round 32: Denizli - Akhisar Bld 80-67

No shocking result in a game when second ranked Denizli (24-8) beat at home 11th ranked Akhisar Bld (13-19) 80-67. The game was mostly controlled by Denizli. Akhisar Bld was better in third quarter 15-13. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. The best player for the winners was American point guard Kenny Boynton (188-91, college: Florida) who scored 21 points. The other American import center Hilton Armstrong (210-84, college: Connecticut) chipped in a double-double by scoring 11 points and 11 rebounds. American forward D.J. Shelton (208-91, college: Washington St.) produced a double-double by scoring 10 points and 14 rebounds and the former international forward Yunus Cankaya (199-85) added 13 points and 4 assists respectively for the guests. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Denizli have an impressive six-game winning streak. They maintain second position with 24-8 record having five points less than leader Tofas. Akhisar Bld at the other side keeps the eleventh place with 19 games lost. Denizli's next round opponent will be Bandirma Kir. (#14) in Balikesir which should be an easy win for them. Akhisar Bld will play at home against Istanbul DSI and hope to win that game.
