Regular Season Round 27: Benidorm - Sagunto 80-67

The game between closely ranked teams ended with 4th placed Sagunto's (4-18) road loss to third ranked Benidorm (9-15) 67-80 on Saturday. Benidorm made 23-of-28 free shots (82.1 percent) during the game. Benidorm outrebounded Sagunto 46-30 including a 39-26 advantage in defensive rebounds. Sagunto was plagued by 25 personal fouls down the stretch. It was a good game for forward Francisco Solsona (198-89) who led his team to a victory with 39 points (!!!) and 9 rebounds. Forward Javier Rodriguez (202-84) contributed with a double-double by scoring 10 points, 11 rebounds and 6 assists for the winners. Benidorm's coach used a ten-player rotation and allowed the starting five to rest. American forward Devin Kastrup (203-92, college: Western St.) answered with a double-double by scoring 16 points and 10 rebounds and Luis Ferrando (185-96, college: Mount Olive) added 16 points and 6 assists in the effort for Sagunto. Four Sagunto players scored in double figures. Benidorm maintains third place in Group E Desc with 9-15 record having just fourteen point less than leader San Fernando. Newly promoted Sagunto keeps the fourth position with 18 games lost. Benidorm will have a break next round. Sagunto will play at home against Cartagena (#5) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
