Regular Season Round 29: Toshiba BT - Chiba Jets 104-57

Very expected game in Kanagawa where 8th ranked Chiba Jets (20-31) were rolled over by third ranked Toshiba Thunders (36-16) 104-57 on Saturday. The game was mostly controlled by Toshiba Thunders. Chiba Jets was better in second period 22-18. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They dominated on the defensive end, holding Chiba Jets to just 6 points in third quarter. Toshiba Thunders shot the lights out from three sinking 13 long-distance shots on high 56.5 percentage. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 26 assists comparing to just 13 passes made by Chiba Jets' players. The best player for the winners was American forward Nick Fazekas (211-85, college: Nevada) who had a double-double by scoring 24 points, 11 rebounds and 4 assists. Senegalese swingman Mamadou Diouf (197-77, college: Delaware) chipped in 15 points and 8 rebounds. Toshiba Thunders' coach Takuya Kita felt very confident that he used entire bench which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. American power forward Clint Chapman (208-89, college: Texas) produced 16 points and 7 rebounds and the other American import power forward Rick Rickert (211-83, college: Minnesota) added 13 points and 8 rebounds respectively for the guests. Toshiba Thunders have an impressive series of nine victories in a row. They maintain third place with 36-16 record having six points less than leader Toyota Alvark. Chiba Jets lost eighth consecutive game. They keep the eighth position with 31 games lost. Toshiba Thunders will face again Chiba Jets (#8) on the road in the next round which should be theoretically another easy game. Chiba Jets will play against Tsukuba R. and hope to win that game.
