Regular Season Round 58: Okinawa GK - Osaka Evessa 90-71

An interesting game for Okinawa GK (40-12) which hosted in Okinawa one of their biggest challengers Osaka Evessa (35-17). Second ranked Okinawa GK had an easy win 90-71. It ended at the same time the four-game winning streak of Osaka Evessa. The game was mostly controlled by Okinawa GK. Osaka Evessa was better in second period 15-14. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They made 21-of-26 charity shots (80.8 percent) during the game. American Anthony McHenry (202-83, college: Georgia Tech) had a double-double by scoring 18 points and 15 rebounds (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field) to lead the charge for the winners and the other American import power forward Evan Ravenel (203-89, college: Ohio St.) chipped in 12 points, 9 rebounds and 4 assists during the contest. Five Okinawa GK players scored in double figures. At the losing side American forward Lawrence Blackledge (206-86, college: Marquette) responded with 15 points and 8 rebounds and Nigerian-Canadian Olu Ashaolu (200-88, college: Oregon) scored 10 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists. Both coaches used bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Okinawa GK maintains second position with 40-12 record having just one point less than leader Kyoto Hannar. Osaka Evessa at the other side dropped to the third place with 17 games lost. They share the position with Akita NH and Shiga L-Stars.
