Not a big story in a game in Oldenburg where 7th ranked ratiopharm Ulm (20-12) was defeated by third ranked EWE Baskets (24-7) 90-75 on Sunday. The hosts trailed by 3 points at the halftime before their 53-35 charge in the second half, which allowed them to win the game. EWE Baskets looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists. ratiopharm Ulm was plagued by 24 personal fouls down the stretch. Four EWE Baskets players scored in double figures. American forward Da'Sean Butler (201-88, college: W.Virginia, agency: Inception Sports) responded with 23 points and 8 rebounds and international point guard Per Guenther (185-88) scored 9 points, 5 rebounds and 7 assists. EWE Baskets maintains third position with 24-7 record having four points less than leader Brose Bask. Loser ratiopharm Ulm keeps the seventh place with 12 games lost. EWE Baskets will face Eisbaeren Bremerhaven (#14) on the road in the next round which should be an easy win for them. ratiopharm Ulm will play against Mitteldeutscher BC (#16) and hope to win that game.
