Regular Season Round 27: Casvi - Villarrobledo 67-81

Everything could happen in Villaviciosa at the game between two tied teams. Both thirteenth ranked Villarrobledo and 14th ranked Casvi had identical 6-17 record. But Casvi was not able to use a home court advantage and was defeated by the opponent from Villarrobledo 81-67 on Sunday night. The guests trailed by 2 points after first quarter, but they stormed back to get the 1-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 81-67. Villarrobledo dominated down low during the game scoring 48 of its points in the paint compared to Casvi's 28. Villarrobledo had a 30-18 advantage in offensive rebounds. It was a good game for American center Garrick Sims (203-91, college: Lake Erie) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 24 points and 10 rebounds (perfect from the field making all twelve shots !!!). His fellow American import guard Marquiz Baker (188-89, college: Alcorn St.) contributed with 22 points and 7 rebounds for the winners. Point guard Hector Jimenez (183-94) answered with 16 points and guard Fernando Sierra (187-95) added 11 points and 6 rebounds in the effort for Casvi. Both coaches allowed to play bench players saving starting five for next games. Villarrobledo (7-17) moved-up to twelfth place in Group B, which they share with Alcobendas. Casvi lost their third game in a row. They keep the fourteenth position with 18 games lost. Villarrobledo will face league's leader Albacete on the road in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Casvi will play against Torrelodones (#10) and hope to win that game.
