Regular Season Round 27: Albacete - Estudiantes B 84-70

Date: April 24, 2016
There was no surprise when 11th ranked Estudiantes B (8-16) lost on the road to first ranked Albacete (20-4) 84-70 on Sunday. The hosts trailed by 4 points at the halftime before their 56-38 charge in the second half, which allowed them to win the game. Albacete made 22-of-28 free shots (78.6 percent) during the game. Estudiantes B was plagued by 26 personal fouls down the stretch. It was a good game for American guard Garrett Nevels (188-92, college: Hawaii) who led his team to a victory with 23 points and 5 rebounds (perfect behind the arc making all five shots). His fellow American import guard Jaron Lane (193-90, college: NC-Asheville) contributed with 18 points and 6 rebounds for the winners. Five Albacete players scored in double figures. Point guard Oscar Herrero (182-87) answered with 23 points and 4 steals and point guard Sergio Sanchez (189-81) added 23 points in the effort for Estudiantes B. Both coaches allowed to play bench players saving starting five for next games. Albacete maintains first place in Group B with 20-4 record. Estudiantes B lost their third game in a row. They keep the eleventh position with 16 games lost. Albacete will face Villarrobledo (#13) at home in the next round which should be an easy win for them. Estudiantes B will play against Tenerife Naut. and hope to win that game.
