Regular Season Round 27: Banvit BK - Demir IBB 74-85

An interesting game took place in Balikesir where higher ranked Banvit BK (15-12) was upset on its own court by ninth ranked Demir IBB (14-13) 85-74 on Sunday. The guests trailed by 1 point after first quarter, but they stormed back to get the 6-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 85-74. Demir IBB made 17-of-19 free shots (89.5 percent) during the game. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. The best player for the winners was American point guard Erving Walker (173-90, college: Florida, agency: Two Points) who scored 21 points, 8 assists and 4 steals (went 9 for 9 at the free throw line !!!). American-Tunisian Michael Roll (197-87, college: UCLA) chipped in 21 points and 8 rebounds. At the other side the best for losing team was French Adrien Moerman (202-88) who recorded a double-double by scoring 10 points, 13 rebounds and 4 assists and American Dominique Johnson (194-87, college: Azusa Pacific, agency: Higher Vision Sports) added 22 points respectively. Four Demir IBB and five Banvit BK players scored in double figures. Both coaches tested many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Demir IBB have a solid series of four victories in a row. They moved-up to eighth place, which they share with Besiktas and Royal Hali. Banvit BK lost third consecutive game. They dropped to the sixth position with 12 games lost. They share it with Usak. Demir IBB will meet Yesilgiresun (#12) in the next round. Banvit BK will play against Karsiyaka (#5) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
