Regular Season Round 11: Halcones - Academia 60-57

Date: April 25, 2016
There was a change at the Liga DirecTV leadership position after last games. Round 11 most important game was a defeat of league's leader Academia (9-2). They were edged by fifth ranked Halcones (6-5) 60-57 on Monday night. It ended at the same time the nine-game winning streak of Academia. It was a great evening for American forward R.J. McGhee (198, college: Oklahoma City, agency: CGL Sports) who led his team to a victory scoring 20 points and 5 rebounds. His fellow American import forward Sean Harris (201, college: Utah St.) helped adding 9 points and 11 rebounds. The former international power forward Divier Perez (201-89) responded with a double-double by scoring 10 points, 13 rebounds and 4 blocks and Puerto Rican-Dominican forward Jonathan Rodriguez (196-87, college: Campbell) scored 16 points. Academia's coach rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Halcones have a solid series of three victories in a row. They moved-up to third place, which they share with Sabios and Bucaros. Academia at the other side still keeps top position with two games lost. They were joined at the leadership position by Cimarrones who have the same record. Academia will have a break next week, which should allow them to rest and make it back to the top of the standings. Halcones will try to continue on its current victory against second ranked Academia in Montana.
