There was a small surprise when eleventh ranked Hapoel Holon (11-19) won against on the road 9th ranked Maccabi Ashdod (12-18) 98-80 on Monday. Hapoel Holon forced 19 Maccabi Ashdod turnovers. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 26 assists. It was a good game for American forward Will Clyburn (201-90, college: Iowa St.) who led his team to a victory with 31 points and 9 rebounds. The other American import point guard Scottie Reynolds (188-87, college: Villanova) contributed with 23 points for the winners. American point guard Isaiah Swann (188-85, college: Florida St.) replied with 24 points and naturalized Swedish power forward Jonathan Skjoldebrand (204-83) added 16 points, 7 rebounds and 5 assists in the effort for Maccabi Ashdod. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Hapoel Holon moved-up to tenth place. Maccabi Ashdod at the other side keeps the ninth position with 18 games lost. Hapoel Holon will face Ironi Nes-Ziona (#11) in Nes Ziyona in the next round.
