Regular Season Round 32: Monaco - Gravelines 89-80

Leader Monaco delivered the twenty fifth victory on Thursday night. This time they beat 5th ranked Gravelines-Dunkerque (20-12) 89-80. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Gravelines-Dunkerque. Gravelines-Dunkerque trailed by 11 points after 3 quarters before a 18-16 run in the last quarter cut the deficit to 80-89 at the end of the game. Monaco made 17-of-19 free shots (89.5 percent) during the game. Monaco outrebounded Gravelines-Dunkerque 39-25 including 24 on the defensive glass. Worth to mention a quality performance of American Jamal Shuler (191-86) who helped to win the game recording 24 points and Jamaican-American power forward Adrian Uter (200-84, college: Hofstra) who added 16 points and 13 rebounds during the contest. American Marcus Dove (206-85, college: Oklahoma St.) responded with 14 points and 5 rebounds and the former international swingman Pape Sy (201-88) scored 12 points and 7 rebounds. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Monaco (25-7) have an impressive ten-game winning streak. Newly promoted Monaco maintains first position. Loser Gravelines-Dunkerque keeps the fifth place with 12 games lost. They share the position with ASVEL and Nanterre. Monaco will meet Chalons-Reims (#12) on the road in the next round which should be an easy win for them. Gravelines-Dunkerque will play against Chalon/Saor (#4) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
