Date: April 29, 2016
Bucaneros rallied past Marinos to even things up at 1-1 in the semis. It looked good early as Marinos took a 1-point small lead at the end of first quarter. But then Bucaneros had a 23-15 second period charge getting the lead and Marinos were not able to take back game control losing it eventually 77-81. Bucaneros made 27-of-32 charity shots (84.4 percent) during the game. Strangely Marinos outrebounded Bucaneros 39-27 including 29 on the defensive glass. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 22 assists. Marinos were plagued by 24 personal fouls down the stretch. American-Lebanese power forward Jarrid Famous (209-88, college: S.Florida) notched 23 points and 9 rebounds to lead the effort and American swingman Jordan Hamilton (201-90, college: Texas) supported him with 10 points, 5 rebounds and 12 assists. Five Bucaneros players scored in double figures. Even 22 points and 5 rebounds by international forward Leon Rodgers (201-80, college: N.Illinois) did not help to save the game for Marinos. The former international swingman Jose Vargas (195-82, agency: Pro Sports) added 11 points and 7 assists for the hosts. Marinos' coach Alvaro Ponce tried various players' combinations and tested in total twelve players in this game, but that didn't help.
