Regular Season Round 30: Toyota Alvark - Nishinomiya S. 91-69

There was no surprise when 11th ranked Nishinomiya S. (12-41) was outleveled by first ranked Toyota Alvark (45-8) in Tokyo 91-69 on Saturday. The hosts trailed by 8 points after first quarter, but they stormed back and won the game by 22 points. American players dominated the game. It was a good game for forward Jeffrey Gibbs (188-80, college: Otterbein) who led his team to a victory with 19 points and 8 rebounds. Forward Richard Solomon (208-92, college: California, agency: Pensack Sports) contributed with a double-double by scoring 12 points and 15 rebounds for the winners. Five Toyota Alvark players scored in double figures. Toyota Alvark's coach Takuma Ito felt very confident that he used 11 players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Davante Gardner (203-91, college: Marquette) replied with 21 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists and center Dillion Sneed (203-84, college: E.Tenn.St.) added 12 points and 11 rebounds in the effort for Nishinomiya S.Toyota Alvark have an impressive 12-game winning streak. They maintain first position with 45-8 record. Nishinomiya S. lost fifth consecutive game. They keep the eleventh place with 41 games lost. Toyota Alvark will face Chiba Jets (#8) on the road in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Nishinomiya S. will play against Kumamoto V. and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
