1/8 Finals Round 1: Niigata Albirex - Iwate Big Bulls 56-80

Iwate Big Bulls outgunned Niigata Albirex in the first game. The game was mostly controlled by Iwate Big Bulls. Niigata Albirex was better in fourth quarter 14-13. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. American forward Patrick Sanders (201-85, college: Cal-Irvine, agency: Interperformances) stepped up and scored 30 points and 7 rebounds for the winners and guard Fujie Tatsunori (184-87) chipped in 18 points and 8 assists. At the losing side Jamaican-American power forward Ryan Reid (204-86, college: Florida St., agency: Comsport) responded with 17 points and 6 rebounds and international center Pape Faye (200-87) produced a double-double by scoring 12 points and 12 rebounds. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games.
