No shocking result in a game when ninth ranked CB Canarias (14-16) crushed 11th ranked Sevilla (12-18) in Tenerife 90-71 on Sunday. The game was mostly controlled by CB Canarias. Sevilla was better in third quarter 22-16. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. CB Canarias dominated down low during the game scoring 56 of its points in the paint compared to Sevilla's 34. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. It was a good game for American power forward Joseph Jones (206-86, college: Texas A&M) who led his team to a victory with 16 points. Forward Javier Beiran (200-87) contributed with 10 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists for the winners. Four CB Canarias players scored in double figures. CB Canarias' coach Jesus Vidorreta used an eleven-player rotation and allowed the starting five to get some rest. Swedish point guard Ludvig Hakanson (190-96) replied with 14 points and American swingman Scott Bamforth (188-89, college: Weber St., agency: Beo Basket) added 12 points and 6 rebounds in the effort for Sevilla. CB Canarias maintains ninth position with 14-16 record, which they share with UCAM Murcia. Loser Sevilla keeps the eleventh place with 18 games lost. CB Canarias will face UCAM Murcia (#10) on the road in the next round. Sevilla will play against La ICL Manresa and hope to win that game.
