Regular Season Round 31: Maccabi K/G - Maccabi Haifa 70-73

Twelfth-ranked Maccabi K/G (10-21) gave a tough game to third ranked Maccabi Haifa (18-13) in Kiryat Gat. The visitors from Haifa managed to secure only three-point victory 73-70. However their fans expected much easier game. The guests took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But Maccabi K/G won third quarter 15-14. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Maccabi Haifa brought some defensive toughness making 7 blocks. Worth to mention a great performance of naturalized Danish guard Chanan Colman (191-84, college: Chipola JC) who helped to win the game recording 18 points and 4 steals. American swingman William Graves (198-88, college: N.Carolina) contributed with 6 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists for the winners. Maccabi Haifa's coach Rami Hadar used a ten-player rotation in such tough game. American point guard Paul Delaney (188-86, college: UAB, agency: Three Eye Sports) answered with 11 points, 5 assists and 5 steals and naturalized American guard Stu Douglass (190-90, college: Michigan) added 15 points in the effort for Maccabi K/G. Four Maccabi K/G players scored in double figures. Maccabi Haifa maintains third place with 18-13 record having seven points less than leader Hapoel J-M. Maccabi K/G lost their fourth game in a row. Newly promoted team stay at the bottom position with 21 games lost. Maccabi Haifa's next round opponent will be Hapoel Eilat (#5) at home. Maccabi K/G will play against Bnei Hasharon (#6) in Hod Hasharon and hope to win that game.
