Very expected game in Reggio Emilia where 13th ranked O.Lavoro BO (11-19) was defeated by second ranked Grissin Bon RE (21-9) 82-78 on Wednesday. However just four-point win is not that big difference and the fans of host team counted on more convincing victory. The hosts were tied at the half but managed to speed up in last two quarters eventually winning the game. Grissin Bon RE made 24-of-31 free shots (77.4 percent) during the game. O.Lavoro BO was plagued by 27 personal fouls down the stretch. International forward Achille Polonara (203-91) had a double-double by scoring 12 points and 16 rebounds to lead the charge for the winners and Lithuanian Rimantas Kaukenas (192-77, college: Seton Hall) chipped in 19 points (went 11 for 11 at the free throw line !!!) during the contest. Grissin Bon RE's coach Massimiliano Menetti allowed to play the deep bench players in such tough game. The best for the losing side was American-Bulgarian point guard Andre Collins (183-82, college: Loyola, MD) with 22 points and international Simone Fontecchio (199-95, agency: Players Group) scored 12 points and 7 rebounds. Five Grissin Bon RE and four O.Lavoro BO players scored in double figures. Grissin Bon RE maintains second position with 21-9 record behind leader EA7 Armani. Loser O.Lavoro BO dropped to the bottom place with 19 games lost.
