Regular Season Round 29: Mazatlan - Guasave 95-80

Rather predictable result when second ranked Lobos UAD Mazatlan (19-9) defeated at home 5th ranked Frayles de Guasave (14-12) 95-80 on Wednesday. Lobos UAD Mazatlan shot the lights out from three sinking 12 long-distance shots on high 54.5 percentage. The game was dominated by American players. The best player for the winners was point guard Curtis Stinson (191-83, college: Iowa St.) who scored 16 points, 6 rebounds and 9 assists. Guard Jeff Ledbetter (190-88, college: Idaho) chipped in 19 points. Five Lobos UAD Mazatlan players scored in double figures. Guard Jordan Williams (198, college: N.Texas) produced 23 points and 5 rebounds and Kevin Rogers (206-86, college: Baylor) added 19 points respectively for the guests. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Lobos UAD Mazatlan have an impressive series of eight victories in a row. They maintain second place with 19-9 record having just two point less than leader Hermosillo. Frayles de Guasave lost third consecutive game. They keep the fifth position with 12 games lost. Lobos UAD Mazatlan will meet at home league's leader Rayos de Hermosillo in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Frayles de Guasave will play against Garra Canera de Navolato (#11) and hope to secure a win.
