Groningen thumped Leiden on the road to spur ahead in the semis. The game without a history. Groningen led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They made 21-of-27 charity shots (77.8 percent) during the game. Groningen shot the lights out from three nailing 12 long-distance shots on high 57.1 percentage. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 25 assists comparing to just 9 passes made by Leiden's players. Leiden was plagued by 25 personal fouls down the stretch. It was an exceptional evening for American swingman Jason Dourisseau (196-83, college: Nebraska) who led the winners and scored 18 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists. His fellow American import point guard Lance Jeter (190-88, college: Nebraska) accounted for 17 points and 6 assists for the winning side. International Worthy de Jong (194-88) came up with 26 points and 7 rebounds and the former international Rogier Jansen (188-84, agency: Court Side) added 14 points and 4 assists (went 7 for 7 at the free throw line) respectively for Leiden in the defeat. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures.
